Spruce Nail Shop Owner Named SCORE Greater Cincinnati Client of the Year

Cincinnati, Ohio—Oct. 18, 2019 – Molly Reckman Nagle, owner of Spruce Nail Shop in Over-The-Rhine, was named SCORE Greater Cincinnati Client of the Year and was awarded $3,000 by Kemba Credit Union at a luncheon Oct. 18. WLWT News 5 Today Anchor Colin Mayfield emceed the event at Kenwood Country Club.

Reckman Nagle opened the shop at 1235 Vine Street in March 2016 and employees 25 people. It’s the first and only environmentally friendly nail salon in the region.

“Being an entrepreneur is in Molly’s nature,” said SCORE Volunteer Carlin Stamm, who has mentored Molly. “She is hard-working and self-motivated to constantly develop her skills as a businessperson and owner. She would find a way to succeed in almost any scenario.” 

Two other businesses were recognized at the SCORE Greater Cincinnati Client of the Year Luncheon at Kenwood Country Club. Wendy Klepcyk and Sarah Kleiner, owners of Envisage Architecture LLC in Cincinnati and Sherry Love, owner of New Seasons Estate Sales in Aurora, Ind. were finalists for the award. 

“This was an especially challenging year to select our finalists from among many successful and qualified businesses,” said SCORE Chapter Co-Chair Pat McKay. “It is so rewarding to see the growth of these clients’ businesses and the significant contributions they are making to their communities. We are delighted that Kemba is providing such a generous award to recognize the hard work of our winner.”

“We would like to congratulate Molly for being named SCORE Greater Cincinnati Client of the Year,” said Dan Sutton, President and CEO of Kemba Credit Union. “We would also like to congratulate all the finalists for their hard work and inspiring dedication to grow their businesses, serve their customers and support their communities. We admire the support SCORE volunteers provide small businesses and we are extremely proud to be part of this wonderful program.”

To be considered for SCORE Client of the Year, business owners must have been in business at least one year, have demonstrated growth and profitability, embraced the SCORE process, and be an enthusiastic partner with his or her mentor.

SCORE Greater Cincinnati, Northern Kentucky and Southeast Indiana Chapter is a nonprofit organization with approximately 100 experienced volunteers who offer free mentoring in all aspects of business development and operations. The chapter offers low-cost educational seminars and maintains an extensive library of business briefs and online webinars. SCORE is the oldest and largest free business mentoring organization in the US with over 12,000 volunteers nationwide who are motivated to give back to their local communities through their support of small business.
